Calgary South West United (CSWU) and McKenzie United Soccer Club (MUSC) are
pleased to announce they are moving forward with a direct affiliation agreement to provide
integrated development and a direct pathway to the PDP League for high performing
players from MUSC and CSWU. Both clubs will be sharing player identification, coaching,
training and curriculum resources to create a system that benefits player development in
accordance with Canada Soccer’s Player Development Program (PDP).
The affiliation coincides with CSWU joining Canada Soccer’s PDP League by earning a
National Youth Club Licence classification under Canada Soccer’s new Club Licensing
Program. CSWU is one of four clubs in Calgary with only seven clubs in the province of
Alberta selected.
The PDP League is a competitive major league for youth soccer organizations that offers a
higher standard for training, programming, and game competition. CSWU will be joining the
PDP league starting in April 2020 and the first age group to join will be U14 players born in
The Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program aims to raise the standards of member
organizations in both the daily playing environment and in participant experience, thereby
improving the overall soccer system in Canada. The primary goals of the program are to set
clearly defined standard and expectations for member organizations, to recognize
excellence in the soccer community, to raise the level of all soccer organizations throughout
Canada and to drive change in the soccer system.
