Christopher McKaig is the new Technical Director of South West United Soccer Club (SWU). Christopher brings a vast playing career in the North Super League in Scotland, where he played for over 6 years before moving to Canada.

Christopher started coaching in 2006 at the University of Dundee, began his youth coaching career at Dundee FC of the Scottish Premier League and has continued his coaching career in North America. He has coached with Calgary Villains, Vancouver Whitecaps, Mount Royal, Canada REX Alberta, Alberta Soccer Association and previously the Technical Director of Springbank Soccer Club. During his tenure at Springbank SC he grew the club; winning a provincial title in T1, building the Springbank Soccer Facility and establishing the club as a prominent T1 rural district club. Christopher was also the Team Alberta – Boys Head Coach at the Canada Western Summer Games, bringing home gold from Swift Current. He is now is bringing his vast experience to SWU. 

Christopher has many Qualifications including Canada Soccer Association National B License, Canada Soccer Association Children’s License, Alberta Provincial B license, NCCP Coach Developer, United States Soccer Federation F, E, D and C licenses and MA (Hons) from the University of Dundee. 

With his experience and qualifications SWU is growing and improving the delivery of their soccer program to all the players in the club.
